Since 1919, the tradition of pheasant hunting has brought friends and families together in holiday-like fashion.

Every year opening weekend brings unprecedented enthusiasm, excitement, and activity to cities and rural communities across the state. Located in east central South Dakota, Black’s Pheasant Fields is readily accessible by highway or local flights. Less than one mile from Lake Poinsett, the Lodge and Cabins are nested in nature in front of a body of water. Black’s Pheasant Fields has everything you need for your next hunting trip!

Hunting Packages

Day Hunt

A Day Hunt at Black’s Pheasant Fields is a group of 3 or more people. This package includes transportation to the fields, dogs, a guided hunt and bird processing. We also provide a 1 meal. The daily rate for a Day Hunt is $275 per person. If you are looking for a single or couple Day Hunt, the price will vary.

Small Group Hunt

A Small Group Hunt at Black’s Pheasant Fields is for a group of 1-5 people. This package includes transportation to the fields, dogs, guided hunting and bird processing.  We also provide lodging in our modern, rustic cabins and 3 meals a day. The daily rate for a Small Group Hunt is $450 per person per day.

Large Group Hunt

A Large Group Hunt at Black’s Pheasant Fields is for a group of 6 or more people. This package includes transportation to the fields, dogs, guided hunting, and bird  processing. We also provide lodging in our modern, rustic cabins and 3 meals a day. The daily rate for a Large Group Hunt is $400 per person.

Do I need to bring ammunition?
Ammunition will be available for purchase at cost when you arrive. We also carry trap loads & field loads.

Can I bring my own dog?
Yes! You are more than welcome to bring your dog. We will provide kennels for your dog if you do not have one. We do ask that you keep your dog off of the furniture in your cabin for cleaning purposes.

Do I need to purchase a hunting license?
Yes, you will need to have a license to hunt. You can purchase one with us or before you arrive through South Dakota Game, Fish, & Parks.
